BIOGRAPHY
Biography
Thalia Alexandra is a dancer, teacher and choreographer of Fusion Bellydance and gypsy dance, creating her own style after many years of research and experimentation. Her passion for dance lead her to a creative process which give birth to a personal, elegant and original style.
She was born in Madrid in 1986 but at a very early age she moved to Belgium and Holland where she attented theater courses and had her first contact with folk and modern dance. Back in Spain her love for dance brought her to different disciplines such as funky, modern, latin dance while she developed her theater training.
For as long as she can remember,she had a strong connection with oriental world and this directed her to Bellydance in 2000.
Later she started her adventures throughout the Middle East and Asia, travelling and exploring new forms of dances, studying with master teacher from around the world in Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey,India. She had the privilege of studying with eminent teachers as Shokry Mohamed, Raquia Hassan, Miriam Szabo, Cristiane Azem and Miriam Peretz.
She wanted to have a deeper approach in the eastern culture and got graduated in Middle east culture at the Complutense University of Madrid, which gave her a profound understanding of eastern culture and dance, increasing her admiration for the magic of Bellydance.
Since 2002 she does research on different dances such as Flamenco, African dance, Indian dance, Brazilian dance, Bollywood,Contemporary and modern dance.
Currently she explores new ways of artistic expression combining travelling and teaching.
She has been featured solist in Spain and International dance festivals, and performing with several artists.
She takes part in Hanin Dance Compagny dancing bellydance and fusion dance, and beeing involved in a new dance project of gypsy dance (Romi) with Erika la Turka and the Bulgarian musician Rom Ciganski kiucher.
